Volpe is the finely tuned trio led by Ghent-based pianist Heleen Andriessen. Drummer Stijn Demuynck and bassist Kobe Boon support Andriessen’s lyrical melodies with an infectious groove. The carefully crafted compositions alternate between energetic and melancholic, allowing the listener to feel immersed in a warm bath while transporting them to an uncanny world. In November 2025, W.E.R.F. Records released their second album, elders.
In May 2019, volpe made their debut with a self-titled album released independently. That record brought the group to various jazz clubs, Leuven Jazz, Jazz In Het Park Gent, and Radio Klara. They also opened for De Beren Gieren and Bram De Looze. The cherry on top was a tour through South Korea, where a fan blogged the following: “그 어떤 코드에도 안주하지 않고, 끊임없이 부유하는 멜로디는 종국에 이르러 묘하게도 중독적인 증상을 뇌리에 심어주었다.” *
In 2022, the singles Casper and Schelde were released.
The new single ‘April’ got airplay on national radio.
